Apple - Trailers - Nacho Libre

Apple - Trailers - Nacho Libre
Another Jack Black film. Looks like Napoleon Dynamite meets School of Rock. Should be funny, I'll wait for the DVD.

San Diego Latino Film Festival

So last night Stephanie and I went to the San Diego Latino Film Festival. This is the 13th year of the event, but our first year attending. While I can't say much about the Festival it's self, the film we saw was incredible. We saw O Casamento de Romeu e Julieta, directed by Bruno Barreto. A new twist on the classic Romeo and Juliet. Bruno's twist sucks you into the romance between a man and woman who are fans of rival soccer teams. From here the hilarity ensues. Yes this is a romantic comedy. I have not laughed so hard. I will go as far to say this is not only the best movie I have seen this year, it is the better than any movie I saw last year.

Bruno was present to introduce the film and participate in a short Q&A after the film. The film is due to be released in the US this summer so keep your eye peeled.

Weekend Recap

Well Memorial Day has come and gone. I hope you took the time to honor the Veteran's that have died so we can be free!!
I took Friday (5/28) off and my gf and I went to Magic Mountain. We got quite a late start, arriving there at 3 in the afternoon. But I have to say that didn't really suck. I think we got on the best roller coasters. X has to be the best roller coaster I have ridden on ever.

On the way home, 3 hour drive, we stopped at Tom's Farms just outside of Lake Elsinore. If you are on a long drive on I15 it is worth the stop. We did an a la carte lunch, purchased some salami, fresh sourdough, cheese and a couple of good stouts. Tom's Farm provides several nice picnic areas and a county fair atmosphere. Very nice indeed.

Then we stopped in Lake Elsinore at the outlet mall. I have to say this is one of the better outlet malls. The stores were truly discount stores in most cases. Downside is the fact it is in Lake Elsinore, not a place I normally get to and it is damn hot in the summer. bleh!!

New Scoot

Get this, I finally purchased a motorcycle. I have wanted one for some time, but they were always out of reach. Busy saving for other goals, (ex)wife, children etc... But now I finally have it. In the beginning of April I purchased a 2004 Kawasaki KLR 650. Long considered the the SUV of motorcycles without the sticker shock associated with it's kindred such as BMW or KTM. Not that I don't drool everytime I see one of those bike cruise by.

Why the KLR 650. It suits me, I like toys/tools that can do more than one thing well. Helps to justify the purchase as well. I figure it is slow enough you won't see me blasting past you at 100+ MPH I like the idea of using the same bike to get to work with a smile on my face and being able to pack it up and go camping.
